Guys, Disney is once again taking aim at out nostalgia with its latest live-action release in the form of Dumbo, and now we have a brand new trailer for the upcoming film. Is Tim Burton aiming Dumbo specifically at kids and families? That seems to be the case if one looks at the last few trailers that have dropped. It’s very much not like the macabre worlds we expect of the director, but who knows? Maybe he will surprise us.
That being said, if one considers is last few films like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, those were for kids and families too. However it’s safe to say that his most successful work gas definitely been his darker stuff. After all, this is the guy who brought us Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, Beeteljuice and Ed Wood.
Anyway, Dumbo comes at a time when there is major attention around Disney’s live-action film remakes, but it also seems like the underdog of the year if you consider the major releases we’re expecting for 2019. In case you forgot, this year brings The Lion King and Aladdin live-action remakes, two treasured films that speak to the nostalgia of the millennial movie-going audience. Dumbo is quite a throwback so I guess we’ll just have to see how audiences react to this remake. What can be said is that the cast is amazing, the production design looks stunning, and Dumbo is cute as hell!
You can find the latest trailer for Dumbo below, and we’ve also included past trailers for the film so you can catch up in case you missed it. Dumbo opens in theatres on 29 March 2019.

Here’s the official Synopsis for Dumbo, provided by Disney Studios:
From Disney and visionary director Tim Burton, the all-new grand live-action adventure “Dumbo” expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.
